Solar plus Storage for Resilent Communities funding for fiscal year 2023 is provided solely for grants to increase solar deployment and installation of battery storage in community buildings to enhance grid resiliency and provide backup power for critical needs, such as plug load and refrigeration for medication, during outages. Eligible uses of the amounts provided in this subsection include, but are not limited to, planning and predevelopment work with vulnerable, highly impacted, and rural communities. "Community buildings" means K-12 schools, community colleges, community centers, recreation centers, libraries, tribal buildings, government buildings, and other publicly owned infrastructure.
