The King County Department of Community and Health Services (DCHS) in partnership with Public Health – Seattle & King County (PHSKC) is pleased to release this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the following language access services:
1. Verbal Language Interpretation
2. American Sign Language (ASL) and other sign Interpretation
3. Communication Access Real-Time Transcription (CART)
Language access services may be offered in-person, Telephonically, or remotely and on a Pre-Scheduled, Rush, and/or On-Demand basis.
Successful Applicants who are awarded a contract will be added to a pool of language access vendors that all King County staff will order services from. Contracts are anticipated to be in place for six (6) years, but may be extended or terminated at the sole discretion of King County.
Contractors are not guaranteed any work from an awarded contract, but may be contacted to provide services to any department in King County on an As-Needed Basis.

PLEASE NOTE: there are two King County language access RFQ opportunities for language access providers. Please see Amendment 1 in the Library tab for details on the Community Engagement Translation Program RFQ, which is soliciting bids from written word translation providers. These are two distinct RFQs with different application requirements and processes. The deadline for the Community Engagement Translation Program RFQ is January 14, 2022.
