The Department of Commerce will provide $138M to install Level 2 or DCFC EV Charging Stations across Washington. Funds will be available in two rounds, with approximately $64 million available in the first round.
Eligible Applicants:
Electric utilities
Public agencies
Federally recognized tribal governments
Non-profit 501 (c)(3) organizations
Applicants are encouraged to partner with each other and the private sector, including charging companies or site hosts, to submit joint applications.

- Multi-Family Residential
- Fleets and workplaces
- Public Schools
- Public transit or Port Authorities
- Tribal
- Other public (federal, state, local governments)
Commerce is working with a technical assistance consultant, Center for Sustainable Energy, on program design, an implementation manual, and website production for WAEVCharging.org. We expect to review projects and issue award letters by January 2024.
