The City of Miami Gardens Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP) provides financial assistance to residential property owners affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in mortgage delinquency. Residents must apply online to participate in the program and selections will be based on a “lottery” system.
APPLICATION PERIOD:Applications will be accepted December 1-8, 2020. Eligible applicants can receive up to a maximum of $6000 per household paid directly to the mortgage servicer.
ALLOWABLE COSTS: Delinquent principal, interest, mortgage insurance, (real estate taxes, hazard insurance and assessments - only when escrowed in the first mortgage payment) and late charges. Funds cannot be applied to HELOC obligations.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicant must be the property owner of record;
Property must be the mortgagor(s) primary residence, must be occupied with Homestead Exemption;
Mortgage must have been current prior to February 1, 2020;
Have not received mortgage or rent assistance from any other source for the same period covered by the award;
Had an impact on employment or income beginning March 1, 2020 or later that is attributed to COVID-19 and the State of Emergency Order.
Home must be located within the City limits of Miami Gardens; and
Current household income at or below 140% of Area Median Income (AMI) for Miami-Dade County (see below table).

El programa de Asistencia Económica para Hipoteca de la Ciudad de Miami Gardens brinda asistencia económica para los Residentes aprobados con el fin de evitar desalojos resultants de dificultades asociadas con COVID-19. Para participar en el programa, los residentes deben presenter la solicitude n Internet y la selección se hará con base en un Sistema de “lotería”.
Se aceptan solicitudes del 01 – 08 de Diciembre de 2020. Los solicitantes que califiquen recibirán un máximo de $6,000 dolares por grupo familiar.
Costos Admisibles: Delinqcuencia de pagos principal, intereses, seguro hipotecario, (sobre la propiedad inmobiliaria, suguros contra riesgos y evaluaciones, solo cuando estan en garantia en el primer pago de la hipoteca) y cargos por retraso. Los fondos no se pueden aplicar a las obligaciones de HELOC
Requisitos de Elegibilidad
Solicitante debe ser el dueño de la propiedad registrado.
La propiedad debe ser la residencia principal del hipotecario, debe estar ocupada con la Exención Homestead.
La hipoteca debe haber estado vigente antes del 1 de febrero de 2020 y no más de noventa (90) días de atraso en el momento de la solicitud.
No haber recibido ninguna asistencia económica hipotecaria o de alquiler de alguna otra fuente o entidad para este propósito.
Tener una dificultad documentada debida a COVID-19 a partir del 1 de marzo de 2020 o más tarde.
La casa debe estar ubicada dentro de los límites de la ciudad de Miami Gardens; Y
